Both the Aspen and Roaring Fork School Districts have impressive educational opportunities for students and have much to offer families who are looking for a great place to settle and raise their children. Recently, Aspen High School was ranked the No. 1 high school in the state and 59th overall high school in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Aspen also provides unique academic experience through both the Outdoor Education (K-8) and Experiential Education (9-12) programs in which students are encouraged to explore, investigate, and relish the intrinsic joy of learning – in an outdoor setting.
The Roaring Fork School District including the communities of Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs, provides impressive achievements throughout the district. In particular, Basalt Middle School recently received their highest achievement scores ever and was recognized with the Colorado Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for the fourth year in a row. Basalt also offers the option for students to engage in Dual Language Bilingual Programs at all grade levels, beginning in kindergarten.
